Ode to the Ta-Tas

I have received questions regarding my pumping and milk supply... so I thought I would share with you a few pictures in response.

Micro-fridge (freezer) at my parents house:

Deep Freezer at our house:

Deep Freezer at my parents house (plus one bag in the door):

I have been blessed with good supply and space to hold lots of milk!
We have used the milk pumped from July until September... so this milk is mid September through now. If I am unable to use it quick enough on Karsie, I will look into donating some of it so it doesn't go to waste.
So... for all you nursing mom's who wonder just how much milk you are producing... there you have it!

  1. WOW Michelle!!! That is truly amazing. You are such a great mom for keeping up with the pumping even though it's a huge pain. How long can you keep it in the freezer?

  2. It stays good for up to a year in the deep freezer. So hopefully she will start drinking large quantities of milk soon to be able to go through it all in the next 9 months!

  3. wow you are amazing! Your daughter is so lucky! I am sure most moms would have done stopped pumping by now. My first daughter was a preemie and I could not get her to latch and I pumped for her for 6 weeks and couldnt take pumping anymore. My second daughter came out ready to nurse and is going on 20 months now and still enjoying her breastmilk!

  4. Awesome! You are a pumping machine! I never did freeze any of mine - Aiden never would take a bottle - but I could pump 10oz in under 5 minutes out of one so I know how you feel! Kudos such a blessing to have too much rather than too little.

  6. That is awesome! We had to go out and buy a deep freeze for all my milk. It's crazy how much I had.

  7. OK, I meant to comment when you posted these pics. I absolutely love them. I think you need to take them down and frame them (or turn them into postcards to send to new moms). Anytime a new mom has a fear that she isn't producing enough milk you can just show her these!! And to think, the baby is a better milk extractor than a pump! Whether or not Karsie drinks it all, some baby will be lucky to get breastmilk.

  8. Michelle - You are amazing! You should be the poster child mama for the La Leche League!

  9. When we got home with Bayta we had so much milk we had to buy a freezer too. Then to top that off, the people we buy our beef from delivered a side of beef that same week. Don't get me wrong... I love steak, but every day for a week gets old!
