Feeling the Blues
Karsie had kind of a rough day today. She has been advanced to 19 mL an hour and her goal for her weight is 20. She will be at that tomorrow if they decide to stay at the same rate. But she has been having a couple spit ups lately. One of her spit ups happened today a few hours after her bottle feeding. She vomited quite a bit and then tonight she vomited after her bottle feeding. As far as we can remember this is one of the only times she has spit up multiple times a day. Plus she was visibly in pain from reflux or something else. She was quite fussy, and it's hard to see that especially with the possibility of going backwards on the horizon. We are hoping and praying very hard that she continues to handle her feeding because she is so close. Nonetheless, we are a little blue today.

I'm praying that Karsie's tummy settles down and that you have the Lord's peace today!
ReplyDeleteHang in there. My prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, this is one of the steps backwards. It doesn't make it a happy day, but you know these days are in the plan, along with the two steps forward days.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a remarkable thing that though her gut was outside of her abdomen - it does work!
And now skin is growing over her tummy. And she can eat, and she can pooh, and she is weaning off her breathing support so well too.
And she is a wonderful, beautiful little girl who is so much loved and has so many prayers to help her along.
I spoke to someone whose baby had an omphalocele too. Their child is absolutely fine and has no issues at all now. I was very cheered by what they had to say, so I am passing it along!
Extra big, huge, enormous hugs to you!
Jen.
I'm sorry to hear that the last couple of days had some rough times for Karsie, and am especially sad that something is causing her pain. We'll be praying extra hard that she keeps healing, eating, and breathing really well so that she can get to where she needs to be and come home!
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you guys. Pray things start looking up again
